It is a huge pleasure for the Board to annually have the opportunity to present HBPB Awards to those in our swimming community highly contributing to our region. This year there were two recipients - both being awarded HBPB OFFICIALS AWARDS for their considerable contribution in their Technical Official capacity.

Willy has been a Technical Official for nearly 6 years. He is currently a JOS, IOT and a Starter and is currently training to be a Referee. Willy always gives his time, officiating on pool deck as much as he can at club, inter-club and regional meets – always making himself available. He is a valuable member of the technical team, has a great manner poolside, and works well with others – making the role a bit of fun.

Wiremu is a Starter, IOT and a JOS. He always puts up his hand to officiate in whatever role works for the technical team. He is an excellent role model to the new officials, giving his time readily, supporting others, and is great to work with. He volunteers at club, inter club and regional meets and is a real asset to the region.
